A few things everyone may liked to know, especially since it feels like some good news is needed around here. I've been seeing a lot of glum faces and I'm starting to wonder.

Anyway, first of all, the case about the fire has been officially closed. The police have ruled it an accidental fire since they don't have enough evidence to rule positive one way or the other and they leave it in the benefit of the doubt considering how much was lost. Now, for those things they found that were somewhat incriminating, Ty was able to get a friend of hers from Hollywood to claim we were storing some props for them until they decided whether they were going to buy them or not, and they had all the paperwork online to prove it. It all checked out, so nothing further will be asked.

And second of all, the man arrested in the double homicide in Rainier Valley has been released. Under specific urging and aided testing, the lab determined that the weapon supposedly used by the man did not match the wounds inflicted on the animal. In fact, in one wound, they found a bone fragment, to which the lab could not place. However, with the murder weapon ruled out, a closer look was made into the defensive wounds of the victims, and skin and fur was found under their fingernails that was animal in nature and not that of the suspect. They have dropped charges and released him. I suspect the case will stay open for a while longer yet before it is labeled unsolved and boxed up.

And finally, third of all--well, I have no real third of all. I just felt it looked funny with two. Well, I suppose I could say, third of all--we have some really great neighbors.

Oh, and by the way, if anyone sees a small skunk running around, it's quite possibly just Wyatt Earp. He's found his way out and while Empress Nympho and I are searching for him, he's a sneaky little guy. Let me know if you see him, thanks.

You know--CSI has done an interesting thing to my profession. On one hand, there has been a boom in people studying forensic science. But on the other, there's been a high burn-out rate too. Because we don't always find answers to all the cases, and you can't give everyone the closure they want. And it can wear on you pretty fast if you're expecting it to work like television, you know?

I'm on my third new lab technician this year and I'm pretty sure I'll be heading in the way of a fourth. I try to tell them the realistic side of the job but they never want to listen. I'm just getting tired of having to retrain these kids only to end up doing all the work myself again in a weeks time.

Why is everyone in this place so against Halloween? Personally, it's one of my favorite holidays. You dress up as anyone you want, and go about getting free candy. It's a great way to be creative and all that.

Oh, um, by the way to any of you I haven't met--which is a lot of you--I've decided to tag along with Ty, the gorgeous woman who could at the very least kick my ass. I've been helping her for years with her 'crime fighting' as I like to call it. I guess you could say I'm her Scooby Gang.

Anyway, don't be shy. I only bite if you ask nicely.

so all of a sudden i'm facing a
raging river that passed me by
do i turn around, do i turn my eye
to the sun in the apex of the high noon
i'm on a flatbed yellow pick up
underneath a half moon

so cut me some slack jack and jump in
the back if you can't handle the candle
then you can't handle the wax
you're just going to get sacked
it's as simple as that

but before i know it
i'm going down this itty bitty river in
a boat a little bigger
than a bath tub
my bones begin to shiver
'cause i'm aching to deliver
this water that i must give her
can i get some

down by the railway station
people moving a new direction
take a ticket from who you can
drive that train

she was a black-tie bomb shell
out of bombay
she was easy on the eyes
so i had nothing' to say
she said take the water to the
leprechaun man you got till the bell
rings three, do you understand
a little piece of me wants to go

i don't know
turn around what do you do
i don't know

ding dong ding that's the bell
and i know you know i know
i don't know you very well
but if i did, i would groove
and hit the ground running
but i don't and i won't
so you got another thing coming

he kicked up the river
with a flick of his wrist
i popped him in the kisser
'cause i couldn't resist
i said to my side kick
i'm up to my high wick
and now i'm getting a little homesick
but before i know it
i'm going down this itty bitty river
in a boat a little bigger
than a bath tub
my bones begin to shiver
'cause i'm aching to deliver
this water that i must giver her
can i get some

ride your train )
